I have been in the field of education for a number of years and have seen improvements in education each and every year. Expectations for students are higher than ever. Yet students are not only keeping up with expectations, but are exceeding them as well. Teachers today are the best trained ever.
That is in general. But why does Germantown do so well in every part of our curriculum? Test scores of our students consistently come out on top. In athletics, music, the arts, vocational studies and others, the students regularly prove they are competitive AND successful.
There are probably a thousand variables as to why they do so well. Support from parents and the community, encouragement from peers, resources dedicated to their success, wonderful teachers and coaches that give and give.
Education in Germantown is a prime example of excellence in education. The Germantown School District's motto - Reaching for Excellence Together – is embodied in everything we do.
What else is important to the Germantown School District?
- We are standards based. We strive for continuous improvement in every facet of our district. This is one of the major reasons for our continued success.
- We consider the safety of our students to be our most important task.
- We use technology to enrich and improve education.
- We consider parental involvement in education to be one of the most important means to student success.
- Energy use and conservation is very important. We actively try to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
- Community partnerships are strategic to the long term quality of our programs.
- Maintaining our facilities is basic to our existence.
I am proud to be a part of the district that creates and supports such excellence. Thank you for visiting our school district website. We look forward to a continuing partnership with the wonderful people of Germantown.
