May/June 2012
Dear Germantown Community Members,
The months of May and June are time to celebrate and reflect for our district. We can celebrate the many awards and accomplishments of the students as well as our staff. Our state representatives awarded us a recognition citation for earning the title of “best schools” through our state testing, ACT and AP testing results as well as our ability to “continuously demonstrate high academic achievement by encouraging good teaching, students involvement, and providing an exemplary learning environment. Students from Germantown High School are being awarded scholarships to attend schools across the nation and these scholarships are for academic, service and athletic excellence. Our staff is more frequently being asked to present at both the state and national level as their excellence becomes more recognized by their peers and we continue our journey toward becoming the premier district in Wisconsin. These things demonstrate that our schools continue to be warm, welcome, rigorous places of learning for our students to be empowered and inspired to success.
We will continue our service to the community through staying within our financial limitations to the best of our ability without compromising research-based practices, data-driven decision making and a broad range of experiences and innovative programs for students. In the 2012-13 school year, one of these unique courses will be Biotechnical Engineering as an extension of our recently nationally certified Project Lead the Way Program.
The process of building the budget for 2012-13 is well underway and those decisions frame much of the future for the school year. The decisions will be ongoing through September 2012. We realize that information is valuable to you as you make decisions and we anticipate that you will continue to be informed stakeholders. We are transparent, and you have access to a great deal of information, viewing the same information our Board of Education uses within this website. We hope you will visit the school web pages and enjoy getting to know us!
As we serve approximately 4,000 students each day, we recognize that our role is pivotal to the quality of life we all enjoy. We also recognize that our role is successful through the collaborative efforts of our families, our community, dedicated and skilled school staff, effective leadership and the work of the Board of Education. Together, we make a tremendous difference. Thank you for all that you do to support the education of our students!
Go Warhawks!
