New for 2026-27

To reduce wait times and improve traffic flow, families will arrive during a designated 25-minute window based on the first letter of their last name. Families are welcome to stay afterward to explore school information areas.

Last name • Arrival window

A-G • 3:15-3:40pm
H-O • 4:15-4:40pm
P-Z • 5:15-5:40pm

What families can expect:

Families will begin with school pictures before visiting classrooms and school information areas. Most visits should take about 20 to 50 minutes.

Why it matters:

Elementary Open House and School Picture Day marks the traditional start of the elementary school year. It is an opportunity for students and families to:
• Meet teachers
• Visit classrooms
• Learn about school information and opportunities
• Prepare for the school year ahead

Why we're making this change:

As Germantown Schools continues to grow, feedback from families and staff showed that long wait times, especially for school pictures, made the evening more challenging than intended.

Staff Names

What families want to know: Students and families are eager to learn who their teachers will be for the upcoming school year.

What's next: Elementary schools plan to share staff names by Friday, Aug. 14, 2026.

Keep in mind: Staffing assignments may continue to change through the start of the school year as new families enroll and student needs are finalized. While adjustments are uncommon, they may be necessary to best support students and schools.

Thank you for your partnership as we work to create a smoother, more welcoming start to the school year.
