JV2 Boys Soccer: Tough Week Builds Character

The JV2 Warhawks faced a difficult stretch this week, dropping matches to two strong opponents. While the results were not what the team hoped for, these experiences provide valuable opportunities for growth as the season continues.

On Monday, Germantown fell to Wauwatosa West 6-2. The team continued to battle throughout the match despite the deficit and showed determination against a talented side.

Wednesday brought another challenge as the Warhawks traveled to Sussex Hamilton and fell 3-0. Although the score was disappointing, the team continued to compete and gain valuable experience against quality competition.

One of the most important lessons in sports comes from adversity, and this young group has continued to maintain a positive attitude while working to improve each week. The coaching staff remains confident that the lessons learned now will help prepare these players for future success.

Looking Ahead

JV2 returns to action with two more opportunities to get back on track:

Monday vs. Brookfield East (Home) 4:30PM

Wednesday at Wauwatosa East 4:30PM

The Warhawks will look to rebound and finish the season strong.

JV Boys Soccer: Weather Shortens the Week

The JV Warhawks were only able to complete one match this week as weather impacted the schedule.

Tuesday's contest at Brookfield East resulted in a loss against a strong Spartans squad. Despite the result, Germantown continued to compete hard and gained valuable experience against another quality conference opponent.

Thursday's scheduled match was ultimately rained out, leaving the team with just one game on the week.

As the season enters its final stages, the JV squad remains focused on continuing its improvement and building momentum for a strong finish.

Looking Ahead

The Warhawks return home for two conference contests next week:

Tuesday vs. Wauwatosa West (5:00 PM)

Thursday vs. Fond du Lac (5:00 PM)

With two opportunities on their home field, JV will look to put together strong performances and continue progressing as a group.

Varsity Boys Soccer: Historic Week Highlights Strong Late-Season Form

The Varsity Warhawks continued their impressive late-season run this week, earning four points in conference play while celebrating two record-breaking individual accomplishments.

Tuesday's trip to Brookfield East resulted in a scoreless draw, but the match may have been one of Germantown's best overall performances of the season. The Warhawks brought terrific energy from the opening whistle, defended aggressively, and created quality opportunities throughout the evening. While neither side found the back of the net, the team's work rate, organization, and intensity demonstrated a group playing with confidence.

Thursday's matchup at Oconomowoc provided both a statement win and a memorable chapter in Germantown soccer history.

The Warhawks defeated Oconomowoc 4-2 behind a remarkable performance from Aaron Dethloff, who scored three goals to record a hat trick. With those goals, Dethloff became the Germantown High School career leader in both goals scored, 24 and total points, 60, cementing his place among the greatest players in program history!

Adding to the historic night, Evan Buss recorded two assists and became Germantown's all-time single season leader in assists with 8! Together, Dethloff and Buss have been instrumental in the success of the Warhawks throughout their high school careers, and their accomplishments reflect years of dedication, leadership, and excellence.

Beyond the individual milestones, Germantown continues to play some of its best soccer at the most important time of the season. The Warhawks are now unbeaten in three consecutive matches and have suffered just one loss in their last seven contests. During that stretch, the team has shown improved defensive discipline, stronger possession play, and increased confidence in the attacking third.

The combination of veteran leadership, team chemistry, and growing momentum has positioned Germantown well as the regular season enters its final weeks.

Looking Ahead

The Warhawks return home next week for two important conference matchups:

Tuesday vs. Wauwatosa West (7:00 PM)

Thursday vs. Fond du Lac (7:00 PM)- Faculty Night

With the postseason approaching, every match becomes increasingly important. Germantown will look to build on its recent success and continue the strong form that has produced results over the past several weeks.

Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Warhawks as they look to extend their unbeaten streak and continue their push toward the playoffs.

Biking

Congratulations to Alex Seboe for a great job last weekend. It was the second mountain bike race of the season at Engelwood Grass Farm in Fall River on Sunday. There were approximately 707 athletes racing across the different categories. The course challenged racers with massive wooden flyovers, punchy climbs, technical rock gardens and rollercoaster- like berms. Alex did an outstanding job navigating the course representing the Washington County Trail Sharks. Alex took 10th place in his race!

Congratulations to Jeffery Hilgendorf and Lukas Heller at the middle school level for a great job last weekend as well. Jeffery and Lukas did an outstanding job navigating the course representing the Washington County Trail Sharks. Lukas finished 8th in his race and Jeffery finished 32nd in his.

BikeBikeBikeBandHomecoming was a busy week for the Wall of Sound. In addition to the group's normal practices, a group of students played the National Anthem for the powderpuff game, performed at the pep rally, the football game, and competed at the Fox River Invitational at Waukesha West on Sunday. At the competition, the band finally performed outside for the judges. They earned first place in their division. The event closed with a performance by the UW-Eau Claire Bluegold Marching Band with GHS Alumni Emily Gattoni (Class of 2026) and Andrew Berndt (Class of 2024). This weekend, they travel to Greendale on Saturday. Good luck!
